In this episode of my new Clean Energy Today podcast, I give you a preview of some of the topics I’ll cover. Listen here:

I include quotes from Elisa Wood, founder of Energy Changemakers, about the important role of distributed energy in the clean energy transition.

“For the first time, households, businesses and communities can truly share in energy decision making and energy wealth,” she said.

Peter Asmus, executive director of Alaska Microgrid Group, explained the numerous roles of microgrids in the energy transition, including integrating renewable resources.

I also talked to Gregory Poilasne, co-founder and CEO of Nuvve, a vehicle-to-grid company. In the trailer, he identified three ways bidirectional charging supports the clean energy transition.

It’s important to focus on equity issues in the energy transition. In this Clean Energy Today preview, James Gaymon, director of operations for social justice for the Sixth District African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Georgia describes how he’s creating solar-plus-storage resilience hubs at AME churches in Georgia, and hoping to inspire church goers to adopt clean energy technologies.

Research is critical to advancing clean energy. Brenda Brickhouse, technical executive at the Electric Power Research Institute, tells listeners about a project in which community members identify the critical services in a Tennessee community that could be served by a solar-plus-storage microgrid.

The trailer also includes a quote from industrial designer Tory Orzeck, a car enthusiast, about why he loves Tesla electric vehicles, but mentions that he’s disappointed with Elon Musk’s involvement in the federal government.

I hope you listen and subscribe to Clean Energy Today wherever you get your podcasts! (The podcast may not be available on platforms until June 9).
